AMC Awarded Jersey City Public Safety HQ Project

We are excited to announce our latest project at the new Jersey City Public Safety Headquarters building. AMC will partner with the McCloskey Mechanical team to perform the wetside mechanical portion of this core-and-shell project. Our work includes a complete condenser and hot water system for the new state-of-the-art, 11-story, 120,000 square foot office building. We are eager to work alongside the McCloskey team again, with our focus on safety, quality and on-time job completion.

The Jersey City Public Safety Headquarters building will house the Police, Fire and 911 dispatch operations of Jersey City. The city is spending $188 million to create a municipal campus that will include community driven services and engagement, as well as centralize City Operations and Public Safety together within the same location to enable them to work more cohesively. The Safety HQ will be the 4th building within this newly designed campus located within the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood: newly branded as “Jackson Square.” The building will be next to the recently completed City Hall Annex at the corner of MLK Drive and Kearny Avenue.

AMC Awarded CyrusOne Project

We are excited to announce our new partnership with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company as we embark on a new project for them at the CyrusOne Data Center in Somerset. AMC will perform multiple phases of the CyrusOne upgrade. The main project will include the extension of the existing plant adding a new 1400-ton chiller package, associated piping and CRAC units. The 430,000 square foot data center falls right into AMC’s wheelhouse as we have extensive experience with data centers over the past 15 years.

The project will begin immediately with a completion date of late summer. In these uncertain times, ensuring companies like CyrusOne have top notch facilities is key and AMC is proud to be part of that initiative. We look forward to working with The Whiting Turner group on this project, ensuring safety first, virus protective measures and on-time completion.

Many companies tout Safety as a priority. For us, Safety isn’t just a priority, as priorities can change day to day. Safety is part of our core values. We foster a culture at AMC in which Safety is part of everything we do…we live it and breathe it every day, on the job-site and at home. We are constantly working to find new ways to keep Safety part of the way we think. This past summer, Advanced launched a new Safety Incentive in the form of Safety Bingo. Congrats to Devon DePersio, a 5th year apprentice with Local 274, for being the 1st official winner of Safety Bingo! Although an individual award, it takes a company-wide commitment to Safety to be eligible to win.
