AMC Awarded Barclays Project!

We are delighted to announce that AMC has been selected by Turner Construction to perform the mechanical work for the highly anticipated 178,000 square foot renovation of Barclays Building 300, located in the 65-acre Barclays Village on South Jefferson Road in Whippany. This will be a complete renovation of the 1st through 4th floors matching the work recently completed in Building 400. It will also encompass a completely new chilled water and hot water plant.

The Whippany campus brings together members of Barclays’ Chief Operating Office – operations and technology – and functional teams from across the Americas. The campus houses the latest technology , state-of-the-art working spaces, health center and onsite childcare. The Britain-based bank purchased the entire campus in May 2017 and has already relocated hundreds of its NY employees to the new complex.

The project will begin immediately with Phase 1 to be completed in July and Phase 2 by the end of the year. We look forward to partnering with Barclays and the Turner teams, ensuring attention to detail, safety first and on-time completion.

Union Service / Start-Up Technician

We are looking for an experienced Service and Start-Up Technician to perform a variety of standard to moderately complex technical tasks related to starting up, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems. This is a full-time, union position.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on commercial mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various mechanical equipment
  • Supervise and Install HVAC Equipment, VRF, Humidifiers, Economizers, Refrigeration Components, Controls (DDC)
  • Perform Startups for new installs
  • Other duties as management deems needed
  • Expertise in Liebert equipment

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical systems
  • Piping, Controls, HVAC Equipment, Boilers +
  • Understand and read blueprints as well as equipment wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to Start-up or repair HVAC system
  • Valid and clean NJ Driver’s License

Education

  • 7+ years of work experience in the commercial HVAC field

PSE&G Renovation

Description: Renovation of Floors 12, 14 and 15 plus a new 24/7 cooling system at the 80 Park Plaza building in Newark. Renovation includes demo and fit out on all three floors. Mechanical air and hydronic systems will support the full renovation. the building mechanical systems are comprised of drycooler plants, glycol distribution piping, pumps, exhausts, indoor packaged air handling units and outdoor rooftop air handling units which will serve VAV boxes and fan-powered boxes with electric heating coils.

AMC is awarded Prudential 6 Plaza Reconstruction Project

AMC is excited to announce our latest project! Our team will be working for Bonland Industries performing all piping work for the installation of Prudential’s Level 6 upgrade.  Nestled in the heart of Skyscraper Center in Newark, the Prudential building spans 2 city blocks and 24 stories high along Broad Street which makes coordination of trades critical to success of the project. AMC’s work will entail the addition of a new ceiling hung AC Unit and associated piping as well as piping and control valve upgrades to over 100 perimeter induction units.

Work begins this month – we look forward to working with the Bonland team – be sure to check back for progress pictures and updates in our project center!

AMC is pleased to announce our newest project! The PSE&G Renovation will take place at PSE&G’s headquarters, located in Newark’s Skyscraper Center on Park Plaza. The 42-story building will undergo a renovation of Floors 12, 14 and 15 plus a new 24/7 cooling system. The renovation includes demo and fit out on all three floors with the mechanical air and hydronic systems supporting the full renovation. The building mechanical systems are comprised of a chilled water plant serving indoor packaged air handling units and outdoor rooftop air handling units which will serve VAV boxes/fan-powered boxes with chilled water and electric heating coils.

AMC is fortunate to be working for long-time partner Independent Sheet Metal on this time critical project.
