AMC Awarded AVIS Budget Group Project

We are happy to announce that AMC has been awarded the Avis Budget Group Project in Parsippany. Avis Budget Group is moving their headquarters to the new 155,234 square foot office space at LATTITUDE, a 35-acre, two-building campus in Parsippany. Driven by a desire for a modern, diverse work experience, this is the first move for Avis since 2001.

The project is a renovation of 4 floors of tenant space including a full HVAC upgrade. It will incorporate all new ductwork, BMS, VAV boxes, air outlets and split system AC and CRAC units.

We are excited for the opportunity to work on another project with Americon HITT. Progress is underway and expect to be finished by October 2023. Check back for progress pictures!

MCAA reports on study showing that Union Labor adds value to construction projects

The Mechanical Contractor’s Association of America released a report today by Independent Project Analysis (IPA), an independent international construction project engineering and research firm. The study shows that union mechanical contractors were 15% more productive than non-union contractors, with a more than 40% reduction in risks of cost and schedule overruns. It further reveals a 4% reduction in total costs versus non-union projects. The report is based on an analysis of 1,550 capital projects on industrial facilities across the United States over the past 20 years. Simply put, this study found that union contractors complete projects on-time and under budget at much higher rates than non-union contractors.

The United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) and Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) joint press release on the topic provides additional details and project background. As Mark McManus, General President of United Association, notes, “It is no surprise that an independent industry firm confirmed what we already know to be true: union training and apprenticeships lead to better outcomes for our members, our employers, and the end users…”.

We are excited about and grateful for this new study and the MCAA’s efforts to draw attention to this crucial information. Cheaper is not always better and often has disastrous and costly implications in the long run.

AMC Awarded Verizon Chubb Project

We are excited to announce that AMC has been awarded the Verizon Chubb Project in Branchburg. Verizon continues to be a valued client who we have done projects for over the past several years. This marks our 13th project for them. This job is unique in that we will be working on a live system. Three new temp chillers will be put in place and 70% of the 16” and 20” pump trim will be pre-fabricated in our UA Certified shop in order to minimize downtime and maximize safety. We can’t wait to get started!

We are teaming up with The Martin Group on this mission critical project and look forward to working with them again.

AMC awarded Passaic County Technical Vocational School’s Biotechnical Innovation Center Project

We are excited to announce that AMC has been awarded the mechanical work for the NEW Biotechnical Innovation Center Project at the Passaic County Technical Vocational School. We will be working for Epic Management. Our scope of work includes a complete HVAC System for the new addition along with a new Trane Building Management System to integrate with the existing campus.

This project is part of a $24.7 million project for a 65,000 square-foot expansion upgrade to Passaic County Technical Institute’s Wayne campus. The new academic wing connects the technical institute with the adjacent Passaic County Community College and includes laboratory space designed to focused on biotechnical instruction. It will also allow high school students in a new life sciences program to graduate with an Associate’s Degree.

AMC awarded Princeton University – Hobson College Project

We are happy to announce that AMC has been awarded the Hot Water Piping Underground Project at Princeton University – Hobson College. There is a tremendous amount of work being performed on the Princeton Campus and this is just one of the numerous underground piping projects that needs to be completed. AMC will partner with D’Angelo Bros. to install (2) 28” prefabricated and insulated hot water lines under the road at the college. We can’t wait to dig into this one and look forward to additional opportunities for underground piping projects in the future. 

Hobson College will replace the existing ‘First College’ on the Princeton University campus at Goheen Walk near Elm Drive. Named for donor Mellody Hobson, it is the first college at Princeton named for a black woman. It was the first residential college in Princeton University at the time of its construction in 1962, therefore holding a historic role in the evolution of the Princeton undergraduate experience. The University will raze the buildings and re-use the site for Hobson College.

We look forward to working with the team at D’Angelo Bros., work should start in the next two months and the goal is to finish before the end of the calendar year.

AMC awarded VERIZON IMCLONE Project

AMC is excited to announce our latest project, Verizon 51 Imclone CRAC Upgrade in Branchburg, NJ. This data center project will consist of 2 phases. The 1st phase will be a replacement of 8 DX CRAC units and 4 DX CRAC units for the 2nd phase. Each phase will be time critical with the ability to only install and commission one at a time.


This is AMC’s 12th Verizon project but our first job working with Henderson Constructors, Inc. We are looking forward to building a long-standing relationship with them as we have with Verizon. Data Centers are definitely our sweet spot, and we look forward to getting this one going.
